Students preparing for transfer to a four-year college or university can choose from among a wide variety of offerings to meet their science general education requirements. Those planning to major in the earth, life, or physical sciences will find the necessary courses to complete the first two years of their curriculum among the division’s offerings. This includes complete programs for those interested in the medically-oriented professions such as Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine. Learn more about the Science Division.

Students may only use one BI 101 , one BI 102 , and one BI 103 to meet requirements for any Lane degree, regardless of letter option. Additional BI 101 , BI 102 , and BI 103 courses will count as electives.
Chemistry
Starting Winter 2021, the General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry series have separate lab courses. It is highly recommended students take lecture and lab courses together. The updated courses pair as follows:
