TA 243 - Acting for the Camera4 Credit(s)
Introduction to skills required to act in electronic media. Students learns the fundamentals of creating believable and completing characters for camera. Topics include articulation, relaxation, script analysis, and providing feedback to fellow actors. Final project begins the creation of an “actor’s reel” for auditions and agent submissions.
Prerequisite: TA 141 Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
1. Demonstrate knowledge of the general theories of characterization
2. Possess the analytical skills necessary to create a character
3. Audition with confidence in a professional manner
4. Understand how to work under a variety of conditions
5. Have a working knowledge of several acting styles
6. Know how to bring oneself to the creation of a character
